Here is what we're doing to keep our clients and staff safe

Protocol

On May 14th, the Ontario government announced that veterinary clinics are able to resume regular business practices as of May 19th. That being said, we cannot conduct business as usual. Westoak Animal Hospital must ensure the safety of our staff and you, our loyal clients.  

As a result, we are only allowing 1 person to enter the office per appointment and we ask that you wear a mask or face covering. We ask that if you are not feeling well (cold, flu symptoms) please have someone else in your household bring the pet. Alternatively, we will pick up your pet from your vehicle and bring them into our office and conduct all conversations over the phone, and we will bring them back to your car once the exam is completed with any medications or food. We are only allowing a maximum of 3 clients in the office at any given time. We are continuing enhanced cleaning protocols and physical distancing in our hospital. If you or someone in your household has COVID-19 or has been exposed to someone who has tested positive we ask that you inform us and we will take advanced safety measures. We will still be offering and encouraging curbside pickup for your medications and pet food and recommending cashless transactions.

June 1st; please check out our homepage for our business hours.  Due to the provincial shutdown we have a significant backlog of appointments to fill. We will be giving priority to emergencies and urgent care patients. Next, we will be contacting patients that have called us during the shutdown and have been put on our waiting list. Then we will give priority to those most overdue for wellness visits.

We ask for and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these turbulent waters together.

During this unprecedented time, the staff of Westoak Animal Hospital is committed to doing its part in slowing the transmission of COVID-19. The safety of our clients and our staff are our priority. 

 

We have put the following Protocols in place:

  • Regular deep cleaning, especially in high traffic areas

  • Wiping down and disinfecting surfaces after each appointment

  • Providing access to hand sanitizer

  • Encouraging staff to stay home and away from others, if feeling unwell

  • Implementing social distancing protocols

 

Appointments and Clinic Hours

Effective Monday, March 23, 2020, our hours are changing to Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, to accommodate urgent medical cases. 

 

At this time we will be postponing all non-essential appointments and procedures until further notice. We will be contacting those affected to reschedule.  Please visit our website and Facebook page for up-to-date information.

 

For existing appointments, please send a family member/friend in your place, or consider rescheduling your appointment if the following applies to you:

  • you have traveled outside of Canada within the last 14 days and/or 

  • have cold/flu-like symptoms and/or 

  • have been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19


To limit the number of people in the clinic, we request that you have only one person attend the appointment with their pet. Once you arrive at the clinic, please call us from your car and reception will let you know when you may come in.

 

Pet Food Orders

We have been informed by our supplier that in order to ensure next day delivery of essential medical supplies, there will be a delay in receiving pet food. Pet food products will arrive in 3 to 5 business days. In addition, pet food will be limited to a 6-week supply, to ensure all pets have access to their food, without causing a pet food shortage.
